FAQ
Straight answers for owners
Are you a business broker?
No. I am a direct buyer based in Lexington. I am looking for one local business to acquire, lead, and operate personally.
Will our conversations remain confidential?
I will keep our conversations confidential and will not contact employees, customers, suppliers, or other parties without your permission. I am always happy to sign an NDA before reviewing sensitive information.
What kinds of businesses are you interested in?
I am interested in established Central Kentucky businesses with a strong team, loyal customers, and a consistent history of profitability.
What happens to my employees and business relationships?
Preserving the team and the relationships behind the company's success is central to my approach. As part of the acquisition, I will create a thoughtful transition plan that provides stability for those who depend on the business.
Do I need to stay involved after the sale?
No. Many of the owners I speak with are preparing to retire and want to step away fully. We will develop a transition plan that works for you and the business. That might include a short handoff period or a more gradual transition, depending on your preferences and what will best support the team.
How will the acquisition be funded?
I invest my own capital alongside a small group of minority investors who have experience owning and operating businesses. I also use bank financing when appropriate.
How do you make money?
By owning and running the business for many years. I will be involved full time, making careful improvements and protecting what is already in place. My goal is steady long-term growth, not a quick resale.
How are you qualified to take over my business?
I have a background in engineering and hands-on management. I have led teams, managed a seven-figure budget, overseen complex projects, and helped growing companies build more effective operations. I hold an engineering degree and an MBA from Columbia University. I will not arrive assuming I know the business better than the people who built it. My first priority will be to listen, learn, and preserve what made the business successful.
